Job Summary (Essential Functions)Under the direction of the VP of Logistics, the Construction Manager will beresponsible for such functions as: construction management, budgets,schedules and contractor management. The types of projects include newconstruction, renovations and tenant improvements. Projects typically rangefrom minor to as high as $7M. This individual will frequently work onmultiple projects simultaneously.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Monitor and ensure that construction materials & methods meet the projectdesign and specifications Monitor Value Engineering aspects of projects Assist in the review and approval of blueprints and project documents Ensure Life Safety procedures and equipment are installed, effective andcontinuously maintained throughout the project Compiles charts and graphs for in-house presentations and record keepingfor all construction projects requirements.QualificationsEducation:* A minimum of 3 years Construction Management experience onprojects $500K or higher is preferred.* BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred, howeveradditional years of experience will be consideredWork Experience: Construction experience in the medical industry preferredCognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability):Ability toread, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professionaljournals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability towrite reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability toeffectively present information and respond to questions from groups ofmanagers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to workwith mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference,and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability toapply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportionsto practical situations. Should have the ability to solve practical problemsand deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limitedstandardization exists. Ability to interpret contracts and a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.Computer Skills:. To perform this job successfully, an individual shouldhave knowledge of Word Processing software; Internet software and Databasesoftware. Working knowledge of AutoCad is preferred.Certificates & Licenses: NonePhysical DemandsFrequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting,moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motorskills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time,hearing within normal range.
