On-Site Support Representative

Under governmental direction, provide dedicated, on-site support for customized applications, interfaces, and systems administration requested by Major Commands. Interact with government customers to support PEX implementation, upgrades and disposition; troubleshoot PEX software and hardware problems; and provide initial, continuity, and refresher training to all users.

Work Scope:

  • Coordinate with base Small Computers and Communications support agencies, including coordination with hardware, software, data suppliers and contractors

  • Oversee PEX implementation, upgrades, and disposition; ensure PEX hardware and software versions are compatible

  • Manage PEX security permission levels, user list, and access levels

  • Provide initial, continuity, or refresher training to local users on-site in the operations of PEX features and upgrades

  • Troubleshoot PEX software, hardware problems found by the user at the unit or squadron to provide problem identification, resolution and tracking to include logging the problem, duplicating through testing and analyzing until a resolution is found

  • Maintain control and cognizance over USG unclassified/classified data.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline and 4 years of relevant experience. Four years of progressive/related experience can be substituted for the degree.

Must have an active Top Secret DoD clearance at the time of hire.

Training & Certifications:

  • Must be able to achieve a DOD 8570 level 1 certification within six months of hire date.

  • Performance Work Statement (PWS) may define and require specialized training and/or Certifications in order to effectively satisfy work requirements.

  • Training for specialized PWS requirements will be provided

Knowledge, skills & abilities required:

  • Understanding of and ability to analyze/troubleshoot hardware, software, and Windows operating systems.

  • Dependent upon local unit requirements, knowledge of networking hardware/software over classified and unclassified government networks may be required.

  • Patriot Excalibur experience highly desirable.

  • Dependent upon local unit requirements,be knowledgeable on the core systems and database management and maintain control over certified PEX systems.

  • Experience providing formal training in classroom and one-on-one settings is highly desirable.

  • Must have ability to interact with and provide timely support to government customers

  • Air Force experience in one of the following backshop areas: Training, Stan/Eval, Scheduling, and/or Unit Readiness Tracking

Essential Functions/Requirements:

Must be able to maintain a TS security clearance and obtain/maintain SCI eligibility.

Must pass drug testing.

Must be able to read and write effectively in English.

With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

Must be flexible to support the customer.

Travel requirements -Occasional travel required

Must be resident in the local area of the main supported unit
